D&M reorganisation gives DMi exclusive CI focus
|
From April 2009, DMi D&M Installation will acquire an exclusive CI remit as a result of divisional reorganisation within D&M Europe.
Within the new business structure, the DMi portfolio will comprise audio and video replay, processing and AV networking products from Denon, Escient and Marantz; network switching, wireless and security systems from Hawking Technology; home automation and control products from Escient and in-wall speakers from Boston Acoustics as well conventional designs from Snell.
Denon Professional and Marantz Professional products will now be exclusively available via D&M Business and Professional Group (Europe). Commenting on the separation of CI and professional installation business in the new divisional structure, DMi UK managing director, Jason Dear, said: "When DMi was formed two years ago, the scale of our CI and professional AV business was such that it made commercial sense to place them within a single division. In the ensuing period, however, our presence in the CI market has grown at a considerable rate.
"We have expanded the number of brands in our portfolio to complete our CI offering and the focus of the division has shifted accordingly. Some of these have little relevance to our professional AV customers. We have reached a point where the specific differences in approach to these markets determines that they are better serviced from within dedicated consumer and professional market divisions."
Jason concluded, "DMi is now a unique force in CI, offering exclusive whole home integration solutions of unrivalled quality and reliability."
